Pictures, shapes and tables

Insert and crop pictures, wrap text, draw shapes, build tables and calendars.

  1. How do I insert a picture? Click Insert, then Picture (or Home, then Picture), choose the picture file and click Open. It lands on the page selected, ready to move and resize. You can also drag picture files from your desktop, Finder or File Explorer straight onto the page.
  2. How do I crop a picture? Double-click the picture (or select it and click the Crop picture button that appears below it). Black crop handles appear: drag one inward to trim that side, drag inside the picture to move it in its frame, and scroll to zoom. Press escEsc or double-click again when you're done.
  3. How do I wrap text around a picture? Select the picture, then click Home, then Wrap Text (or Arrange, then Wrap Text) and choose Square. Text in any box underneath now flows around the picture. Choose Tight to follow a shape's outline, or Edit Wrap Points… to draw the outline yourself.
  4. How do I add shapes and effects? Click Insert, then Shapes and pick a shape. It appears on the page selected. Drag its handles to size it, then use the Format pane on the right to change its Fill and Outline, and the Effects tab for a shadow, glow, reflection, bevel or soft edge.
  5. How do I add and format a table? Click Insert, then Table and drag across the grid to pick the number of rows and columns, then click. Type into the first cell and press ⇥Tab to move to the next one. Select the table to add rows and columns, merge cells or pick an AutoFormat look in the Format pane.
  6. How do I insert a calendar? Click Insert, then Calendar. Korva adds this month's calendar to the page, with the month name, the days of the week and the dates filled in. Double-click a day to type an event under its date.
  7. How do I add alt text to a picture? Select the picture, open the Accessibility tab in the Format pane and type a short description under Alternative text. For a picture that is only decoration, tick Decorative — skip for screen readers instead. Korva puts both into the PDF you export.
