Troubleshooting
Install warnings, recovering unsaved work, printing problems and contacting support.
- Windows says "Windows protected your PC". Is Korva safe? The warning appears because the installer on our site isn't code-signed yet, so Windows doesn't recognize it. Click More info, then Run anyway, and the installer continues. To avoid the screen, install Korva from the Microsoft Store instead; Store apps don't show it, and the Store keeps Korva updated.
- Korva won't install or open on my Mac or Linux computer On a Mac, drag Korva into Applications before opening it, and click Open when macOS asks about an app from the Internet. On Linux, make the AppImage executable with
chmod +x, and installlibfuse2if it won't start. If a download seems damaged, download it again and compare its SHA-256 checksum with the one on the download page. - Korva closed before I saved. Can I get my work back? Usually, yes. While you have unsaved changes, Korva keeps a recovery copy every second or so. Start Korva again and it asks Recover your work?; click Recover my work and your publication opens as it was, marked Unsaved changes. Then save it or export a PDF straight away.
- Why is text missing or wrong in my PDF or printout? Most often the text doesn't fit its box, and anything past the bottom of the box doesn't print. Korva marks such a box with a red overflow marker, and the check under File, then Export says Text does not fit — the end of this story will not print. Make the box bigger, set AutoFit in the Format pane, or continue the story in another box. Text in a different font or with ? in it comes from a font that isn't installed or doesn't have those characters.
- How do I contact Korva support? In Korva, click the Help tab, then Contact Support. Click Copy to copy the address and paste it into a new email, or click Open my email app. For a problem with a file, attach the file or a screenshot, and say which version of Korva and which system you use.
